Lately, the plant jatropha (Jatropha curcas L.) as a budding artist. Its presence is often the talk of people, both at the level of farmers, businessmen, bureaucrats and legislative branches. This is due to the distance the fence is a source of fuel that is renewable and environmentally friendly that can be used as a substitute for petroleum derived from fossil (fossil fuel) that are not renewable and environmentally unfriendly, with diminishing reserves in the bowels of the earth.
Apart from Jatropha curcas, known to some kind of distance, such as: Jatropha multifida, J. integrerrina, J. glandulifera, and J. gossypofilia. Those species
have a different look with Jatropha curcas and can be used as an ornamental plant which have high economic value. Even for species of Jatropha multifida or known by the distance a horn, or distance bulging exports have value as ornamental distance. Parent garden Pakuwon Castor, in addition to having
jatropha plantation collections from various regions in Indonesia, also collects some distance exotic species as an ornamental plant, such as J. multifida (distance or distance puffy trumpet), J. integrerrima (distance songo iodine or guardian), and J. glandulifera (distance or distance jitun Mangir).
Because Jatropha is still in one genus, functions as an ornamental plant can be created by connecting or species attached to each other in order to obtain a unique ornamental plants and exotic. The technique of grafting or attachment (grafting) performed a very simple manner, rootstock and scions are selected from where the desired species
provided that the plant will be connected or the distance that has woody digrafting (± 3 months old).
Materials and tools used include: cutter knife, rope, plastic bags are white, and the distance that has woody plants as rootstock and scions. grow. Plant maintenance is done by spraying fungicide grafting connection or a connection that is not attacked by fungi. Single rootstock can be connected with two or three types of stem above that would be obtained by the exotic ornamental plants.
